Notifications
Notifications are emails that are sent to a user when specific actions are completed in the Avance CMS by other users. Each user can turn notifications on or off to their own specifications. A user can determine what actions they feel are important to track as Courses and Programs are created and updated in the Avance CMS.
Configure Notifications
Click on your name in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Choose the Profile option in the menu.

Notification options will be visible on the right side of the Profile screen - below the Primary Language choice.

To turn notifications on or off, click on the toggle to the right of the desired notification type.

Notification is turned on when the toggle appears red (first two options in the image above).
Notification is turned off when the toggle appears grey.
Using Notifications
There are a number of notifications that can be received from the CMS. These are listed in the next section - Types of Notifications.
Most of the notifications are triggered by normal actions in the CMS. For example, a notifiication is sent when a comment is added in a Lesson forum if the New Post notification is turned on.
The following notification types require a user to perform specific actions to trigger a notification.
Tags
Click on Programs in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

Click on the desired program.
Click on the English or Spanish preview option for the desired lesson.
On the right side of the page, there is a Forum section. Click on the Add Post button.
A text box will display on the screen where a comment can be added.

Use the @ symbol to tag another CMS user in the comment. A tag will only work if the person is a registered user in the system.
Note: You cannot tag yourself in a comment.
You cannot tag yourself in a comment.
Type @ in the comment box. A list of users will display as options for tagging.
Keep typing to filter the list.

Click on the name you want to tag in the comment. Repeat to add additional tags. Multiple people can be added in a single comment.
Add any instructions or general comments to the comment box.

Click the Submit button to add the comment. This will trigger a notification to be sent to the person(s) tagged in the comment.
The tagged user needs to have the Tags notifications turned on in order to receive the notification email. See Configure Notifications
Reply
Click on Programs in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

Click on the desired program.
Click on the English or Spanish preview option for the desired lesson.
Find the comment in the Forum section on the right side of the page. Click on Reply towards the bottom of the comment box.

A text box will appear. Type your reply in the text box.

Press Enter on your keyboard.
You will see your reply added below the original comment and the comment count will be increased by one.

The user that added the original Comment will receive a notification that a Reply has been added.
The user that added the original comment needs to have the Reply notifications turned on in order to receive the notification email. See Configure Notifications
Likes
A Comment can be "liked" when added to a comment thread. A "like" can communicate that a Reply has been seen or to indicate approval of the Reply when a full comment is not needed.
Navigate to the desired comment. Replies to comments will have a thumbs up (👍🏽) icon.

Click on the thumbs up. The counter will increase by 1.

The user that added the liked Comment will receive a notification that the comment has been liked.
The user that added the comment that is 'Liked" needs to have the Likes notifications turned on in order to receive the notification email. See Configure Notifications
Click on the thumbs up icon again to remove a "like". The author of the comment will not receive an email when a "like" has been removed from a comment.
Types of Notifications
Notifications are related to specific actions other users perform in the Avance CMS. The following describes the different type of actions a user can turn notifications on.

| New Post | An email will be sent whenever a new Post (comment) is added to the Forum of a Lesson. This covers all Lessons in the Avance CMS, not just Lessons you have worked on. |
| Tags | An email will be sent whenever you are tagged in a Post (comment). You will not receive a notification when a Post is added; only when you are tagged in the Post. |
| Reply | An email will be sent when another user adds a Reply to a Post you have added. You will not receive a notification for replies on a Post you did not create. |
| Likes | An email will be sent when another user Likes a Reply you have added to the comment thread. |
| Comment Deleted | An email is sent when a Post you added is deleted by another user. You will not receive a notification for any deleted Posts you did not add. |
| Lesson Edited | An email is sent whenever a lesson is edited. This covers all Lessons in the Avance CMS, not just Lessons you have worked on. |
